6th Grade Spring Camping trip

May 14, 2009 by saulzippin

Hi All,

We are going white water rafting for our spring trip. This is a great trip that Ms. Pamela and I did twice two years ago. Mother Lode rafting provides a great camping spot, right on the American River, and an amazing rafting experience for middle school students.

They do require two forms for participation in this activity. Please return those to Me or Ms. Julianne as quickly as possible. I can email you another copy if needed or I can give one to your student in Advisory as needed.

Here is a copy of the packing list. Please follow it as closely as possible. Your comfort will be compromised by leaving off any of these items.

What to bring for drive up:
Backpack with lunch

Assignment for Advisory:

Design a menu for our camping trip dinner. Remember that we will have limited supplies to cook with (grill, campfire) and limited cooking instruments (pots, pans, etc.) We also will have coolers to keep things cool, but no freezers or refrigeration.

Our goal is to design a healthy meal that all campers can eat (must be vegan/vegetarian option) that  can be made for twenty two people cheaply by 6th graders.

The assignment is due in advisory on Oct 7.
